Why did Leo become a Financial Advisor?

Transcription of Leo's "Why" video:

Do you remember playing The Game of Life?  As a kid, I was intrigued by the stock market squares. I didn’t fully understand them, but I knew there was a strategy—something more than spinning the wheel and hoping for the best. That curiosity stuck with me as I grew up. After World War II, my dad immigrated to the U.S. and became an engineer at Pratt & Whitney. My mom was a Catholic school teacher. One thing my parents taught me was the value of hard work, but money was something I had to figure out on my own. We didn’t have much, and I saw firsthand how hard it could be to make ends meet. I started working at a young age—mowing lawns, taking on whatever jobs I could—and that work ethic carried me forward. After high school, I joined the Army, which helped me pay for college. At UConn, I worked for the athletic department and balanced side jobs to stay on track. I knew I wanted a future where money wasn’t a source of stress, but I didn’t know how to get there. Then I met someone in finance who changed the way I saw money. I realized it wasn’t just something you hoped for—it was something you could plan for and build toward. That moment changed everything. And that’s what drives me today. I’ve been through the uncertainty, the stress, the feeling of having no financial direction. Now, for more than 20 years, I’ve helped people gain clarity and confidence in their financial lives and hope to do the same for you. Outside of work, I love spending time with my family, exploring the outdoors, and catching a UConn basketball game. I also enjoy working with stone— for me, it’s about building something that stands the test of time. The same goes for financial planning—helping you create a plan that’s built to last. If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that the right moves in life aren’t about the luck of the spin—they’re about having a strategy. If you’re thinking about your financial future, I’d love to help you on your journey.

Curious About Our Process when working with clients?

Transcription of "Our Process" video:

Back when I was in the Army, I oversaw supply—we’re talking millions of dollars in gear. My job was to keep it organized, in good shape, and make sure it was ready for deployment when soldiers needed it. This is how I approach financial planning. You’ve built savings, investment accounts, insurance policies—but without a plan, it’s just parts. Like trying to build a jet engine with pieces from different machines. You need a blueprint. A strategy. That’s where we come in. It starts with a conversation. We get to know you—what matters, what’s on your mind, and what you’re working toward. From there, we help you get organized, identify gaps, and build a plan that’s custom to you. No cookie-cutter solutions here. Something you can understand, something built around your life, your goals. And I’m not just here for the setup. I’ve had clients with me since 2002. I’ve watched their kids grow up, helped them through retirement, seen them through loss. This isn’t just about managing money—it’s about relationships. And our relationship is a two-way street. I make a commitment to show up for you and I ask the same in return. We call it a “Client Bill of Rights.” It means open communication, shared responsibility, and staying engaged. Because that’s how trust is built. We’re a small, experienced team, backed by one of the largest independent firms in the country. If you’re ready to take the next step, let’s start the conversation.

Big life changes? We’re here to help.

Transcription of "Life Transitions" video:

Most people don’t call a financial advisor just because they feel like it. They call when something in their life changes. You’re in your 50s and starting to think seriously about retirement. You’re preparing to sell a business you’ve poured years into building. A big promotion or a sudden change in job status happens.  An important decision looms. That’s when the questions hit hard: What now? What do I do with this? Who can help me make sense of it? You’re suddenly faced with unfamiliar decisions, complex paperwork, and long-term consequences—and it’s on you to figure it all out. But you don’t have to do it alone. That’s why we’re here: to help you sort through the uncertainty and take the next right step. We walk with you through some of life’s hardest and most meaningful moments. Not just the obvious ones—like building a clear, confident retirement income plan or paying for your children’s college tuition—but the ones that come out of nowhere. The calls that start with, “I don’t even know if this is the kind of thing you help with…” We’ve helped clients navigate a sudden illness or loss of a spouse. We’ve helped adult children make sense of inherited accounts. We’ve helped business owners when a buyout or loss of a business partner occurs. Life doesn’t always give you a heads-up. But when something changes, we help your financial plan change with it. If you’re facing a major change and looking for someone in your corner, we’d love to talk.

What Are My Pension Payout Options?

Transcription of "What Are My Pension Payout Options?" video:

Choosing how to take your pension is one of the biggest financial decisions you’ll ever make—and it’s permanent. Do you take the single life payout for the highest monthly income, the joint payout to protect your spouse, or a lump sum that offers more flexibility? But here’s what many people don’t realize: there are also alternatives outside your pension plan that can potentially enhance your monthly payouts and provide death benefits for your heirs—something most standard pension options don’t cover. I work with clients to run the numbers, compare scenarios, and design strategies that fit both their retirement lifestyle and their family’s legacy goals. If you’re approaching this decision, reach out to me today for a consultation, and let’s make sure your pension works as hard as you did to earn it.

Do-It-Yourself Investing Has a Blind Spot

Transcription of DIY Investing Has a Blind Spot Video:

What would happen if the one person who always handled the money in your family suddenly couldn’t anymore? Back when I was younger, I thought I could handle just about anything on my own. In fact, I took pride in being the one people relied on- whether it be at home or in the workplace. I liked having control, being organized, and managing the details myself. That’s what a lot of do-it-yourself investors feel, too. You’ve researched, built accounts, tracked performance- it feels good to be in control. I get it, because that was me. But here’s the blind spot: behind the scenes is a complex web of rules- taxation, beneficiaries, retirement accounts, and estate planning, and more- that many don’t realize they’re navigating. And just as importantly- if something unexpected happens, does anyone else know where everything is? Does your spouse know which accounts to access? Do your kids know the strategy behind your investments- or even where to start? I’ve seen what happens when families are left in the dark. The one person who always handled the money is suddenly gone, and their loved ones are overwhelmed, grieving, and worried about making costly mistakes. That’s where I come in. My role isn’t about taking control away- it’s about adding protection. I help you organize your accounts, document your strategy, and create a plan that your family can follow if life takes an unexpected turn. I’ve had clients for decades- through kids growing up, job changes, retirement & loss. What we build together isn’t just about investments. It’s about relationships, trust, and making sure people you love are cared for when they need it most. Even if you love being a do-it-yourself investor, consider letting me be your second set of eyes. Think of it like having a co-pilot- you’re still flying the plane, but now your family has the confidence and clarity that comes with knowing someone else is there. If you’d like someone alongside you to help ensure your family is prepared for the unexpected, let’s connect.
